Queen's gazette highlights new research article

The Queen's Gazette's Mitchell Fox interviewed Drs Saeed and Magpantay regarding the new SPRITE research article. They breakdown the reasons why the SPRITE team, including trainee Sicheng Zhao, pursued an approach called 'edge-based network modeling' to estimate the potential scale of a syphilis outbreak in the region of Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox & Addington Public Health (now known as South East Health Unit).

One of the main findings was that the syphilis outbreak could grow to a projected 1,700 cases and a 5% increase in syphilis point-of-care testing could reduce the outbreak size by over 13 percent.
